Abstract: The article author dwells on marking the 300th anniversary of Mikhail Lomonosov’s birth. The Russian scientific community will celebrate the day in 2011. The article author describes in detail the great Russian scientist’s economic views and shows in what way he participated in the social life and the life of the Russian academic and industrial community.
