Abstract: Child labour is an important problem for not only developed but also developing countries. About 160 million children are employed all over the world, violating the International Labour Standards. The existence of children in the labour market has some undesirable consequences for the children themselves and the economy of the developing countries. Considering the basis of the struggle for a reasonable solution to the child labour, the assumptions about basic human rights as well as economic concerns must be taken into consideration. Aside from the justification of these views, their implementation by the developing countries is also a controversial issue. The aim of this study is to examine the rightfulness of the demand for child labour by developing countries and investigate the policies for struggling with child labour.
