Abstract: This chapter considers a range of approaches related to improvement of the environmental impacts of mobility and the new equipment of energy use. Different aspects of mitigation are considered in detail, covering aspects such as techniques for monitoring and modelling greenhouse gas emissions, development of new fuels and renewable energies and the impact of transport on land and water use. Mobility, in all its forms, is a complex subject when considering the variety of future developments that could enable a transition to sustainability. It is also one of the most important pillars of green cities.
