Abstract: In the network economy, manufacturing firms have to find new ways to compete and to seek after new sources of differentiation. This article focuses on the development of services based on new information technology. Based on the analysis of frameworks coming from various research fields (marketing, services, information systems) and illustrated with the case of Alcatel'' new service offer, this contribution discusses the acceptance of these new services and points out the role of the learning process.
