Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to review the literature on stage models in purchasing and supply, and environmental management, to develop a model of ‘green' supplier management. Starts with a discussion of current thinking on models of supplier assessment and development, particularly in the field of environmental performance. Thinking behind maturity models, especially as applied in purchasing, supply and green performance, is then treated. The applicability of combining green and supply maturity models is then described. The paper finishes with some comments on limits of maturity models in this field and their applicability.
