Abstract: Virtual Universes are and will be more and more an attractive field of research for many academic disciplines, mainly Information Systems. Technologies and functionalities of virtual universes are subject of experimentations, as well as being adopted, within organizations. Nevertheless, this field of IS research still needs to be delimited and characterized. The survey of these universes requires the usage of frameworks integrating theories of the subject and the organization. We are proposing to use the theory of the activity within an organizational perspective. On this basis, an analysis approach was developed and an illustration over a case is proposed.
