Abstract: In diesem Artikel präsentiert der Autor di Entwicklung des Eisenbahngüterverkehrs in Frankreich. Nach einem Zeitraum des Rückgangs von 2000 bis 2005 hat sich der Güterverkehr mit dem Eintreffen neuer Beförderer insgesamt stabilisiert. Der Autor analysiert die Auswirkungen der Öffnung des Marktes für Neueintretende sowie die Bedeutung des Qualitätsniveaus des Netzes für die Entwicklungsperspektiven. Die Entwicklung der Organisation des Bahnsystems eröffnet Wege des Fortschritts für die Zukunft.
