Abstract:
In the 1980ies, distribution networks have expanded tremendously. Today these networks have reached maturity with considerable organizational structures and managerial concerns which have evolved over the time. This paper aims at examining what is at stake in the maturity of franchised stores and the consequences this maturity can have on the relations between franchisors and franchisees. The first results of an exploratory study will be expounded. This study has been carried out with several franchisors.
