Abstract: Based on a monographic study of 19 "Établissements et Services d'Aide par le Travail (ESAT) in the Rhône-Alpes region, this article questions the thesis of the commodification of the medico-social sector, by focusing our analysis of our analysis is the capacity for action of the managers of these structures which are unique in that they combine a social mission with an economic one. economic mission.
