Abstract:
While literature has acknowledged the importance of language in the acculturation process, specific language barriers encountered by migrant adults when entering a new consumption culture remain an area to be explored. In this research, we use of the European integration programs as a mirror of these barriers. An ethnographic research enables us to identify four barriers and to suggest category-specific and situated marketing-related activities to lift these barriers.
