Abstract:
The male and female equality in professional sphere has become an imperative for Moroccan companies. This imperative is based on a business case and social equity. Multinationals in Morocco are pioneers in equality. These companies tries to apply HRM practices imported from western countries which are meant to be integrated easily in Moroccan context and enable equality between men and women. But the reality is quite different ; facing the Moroccan cultural context, these practices are understood, interpreted and applied differently. Egalitarian HR practices are redefined in terms of the actors who perceive these practices as their cultural repositories. The result is then controversial : these practices are successful in achieving their equality goals but are shaped according to Moroccan culture and values. The purpose of this communication is to understand how human ressource practices enable women to gain access to executive positions.
