Abstract:
This study focuses on BYOD practices (i.e. "bring your own device", provision and use at work of personal devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops) in SMEs. In this paper, we aim to identify the "security paradox" which is parallel to the risks faced by individuals and their security concerns about their personal data. After reviewing the literature, we propose a conceptual model based on the Coping Model of User Adaptation (CMUA), (Beaudry & Pinsonneault, 2005) and make several proposals to address the security paradox.
