Abstract:
This article deals with the approaches that some artistic teams co-develop with non-professionals of the art worlds. These approaches update themes already carried by the currents of popular education or the counterculture movements of the 1970s, but they can also be linked to contemporary standards such as cultural rights. Taking into account the diversity of the cultural identities of the involved actors each time leads to new and tailor-made processes. A first example shows both the importance of the local partnerships that can be developed and of the mediators between the artists and the populations that will be involved. The ability to adapt the approach over time requires a cooperation framework that is both precise and flexible, especially since several phases of the process are to be considered. The question of valuing and evaluating the process should also not be overlooked. Other examples of shared artistic approaches illustrate ideological and organizational similarities, despite the diversity of the implemented devices. In a global context which remains unfavourable to them, these approaches deserve to be better recognized and supported, as a new pillar of cultural development more concerned with diversity and interculturality.
