Abstract:
Whispers, glaring glances, slamming doors ... What's going on? We unveil for you the real world of organizations, these archipelagos, less visible from the management continent, but which nevertheless extend it. They are part of reality, of the daily lives of managers, who must deal with these critical incidents. A situation where we feel that everything can turn upside down, a few seconds when the situation has suddenly changed and your career depends on it ... What to do, and above all, what would you do? Successful, big and small, perilous or short-lived, adrenaline is on the agenda in the daily lives of managers. It is also included in this collection of incidents that punctuate organizational life and illustrate aspects that are little celebrated in the business press. We counted on these tensions and paradoxes, these sometimes unspeakable stories, in order to manage to transpose, in our training rooms, part of the reality of managerial life. Used both in the regular programs of university establishments and in the context of tailor-made training sessions for practicing managers, these 73 incidents and the few cases that accompany them have proven themselves, on all continents ... They sparked sometimes passionate discussions, gave rise to everything except indifference and severely tested the participants' reasoned thinking skills. This is their main educational strength. We therefore offer you these "working tools" for sharing. This work, produced by teacher-researchers and professionals from all over the world, is aimed at management students (university bachelor's and master's degrees, business schools, MBA), students in engineering schools, teachers and to all those involved in management training. It offers the possibility of very concretely supporting students in their acquisition of human and strategic management skills.
