Abstract: 80 years ago, French great intellectuals created the journal La Pensee-they were outset over the falsifications that marked the presentation to the public of the major issues in debate, the ideological and social political stakes in the immediate pre-war period, as expressed by Pierre Viiar in the inaugural issue. What can we learn from reading the summaries of almost 400 issues, whether in the fields of hard science, philosophy, culture, economics, education... ? The general line of this committed journal is evidence of an integration into an intense political and ideological life: That of the Cold War, decolonization, crisis of capitalism and those of the socialist model, globalization... in short the movement of world and ideas for 80 years
