Abstract: The purpose of a previous book, "Caught in a trap" (Guillaumont, 2009), was to examine the rationale of the category of the least developed countries (LDCs), created in 1971 by the United Nations. The purpose of this present book Out of the trap1 is to look for the development impact of country membership in the category and related international support measures.
