Abstract:
This introductory chapter presents the results of a research program in the framework of the Contemporary Maghreb Research Institute (IRMC), and carried out in the field from 2010 to 2012. Supported by a multidisciplinary and international team of around twenty of contributions, it testifies to the new strategies of internationalization of companies from the regions bordering the Mediterranean. It analyzes the profound changes of the entrepreneurial landscape, in a particularly turbulent economic and political context, in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. This introductory chapter has three parts: first, the theoretical framework of the study, then its 5 thematic axes (FDI, SMEs and Maghreb groups, sectors and spaces, actors of reinvestment in the country of origin, and diasporas), and finally the main research lessons.
