Abstract:
The liberalisation of the socialist economy has been well underway since 1992, but systemic difficulties are still very present. The reforms have created the basis for the development of capitalism in Russia. However, the indebtedness of enterprises is so high that a form of demonetisation of the system is emerging, with the emergence of a barter economy. Due to the economic crisis, the conversion of the armaments industries is proving particularly difficult, especially as the personnel have lost the high status of their functions. Furthermore, the failure or slow pace of conversion is also a major obstacle to the success of the transition process. Economic assistance should be provided to Russia so as not to create the collective frustrations that lead to conflict and threats to national and international peace and security.
