Abstract:
This research investigates the process of legitimacy building of a cluster initiative, focusing primarily on the interplay between internal legitimacy, towards the members of the cluster initiative, and external legitimacy, towards the institutional partners. Thanks to a qualitative and longitudinal case study, we analyze Inno'vin, the French cluster initiative in the wine and vine sector, located in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. Our main results concern the temporal nonlinearity, the combination between institutional and strategical approaches, and the multilevel analysis of the process of legitimacy building of a cluster initiative.
