Abstract:
On 15 April 1994, the round of multilateral negotiations of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), opened in Punta del Este, concluded with the signing of the Marrakech Agreement and the creation of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Michel Rainelli, a researcher at the CNRS and professor of economics at the University of Nice, was well placed, as the author of a previous book on the GATT, to introduce the perspectives opened up by this institutional change.
