Abstract: Initiated in 2003 by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition in the context of the "Robien" rental investment scheme, the A/B/C zoning carried out on a national scale makes it possible to categorise territories according to the real estate market tension. While this single indicator highlights the tensest areas, it remains incomplete about the so-called "zones détendues" (C zones). Indeed, by assimilating them to a uniform void that seems to be devoid of all activities, this mapping does not consider the diversity of forms and functions of these territories most of them are located outside the city cores and which often remain depreciated. The aim of this article is to understand the existing dynamics by developing a typology of "zones détendues" through the prism of territorial attractiveness by using a hierarchical ascending classification.
