Abstract: This study explores information asymmetry and opportunism among actors in the agriculture, the degree of fit between production modes and distribution channels through sustainable agriculture (SA). It shows that upstream actors struggle to signal products fitting with SA to customers, who suffer from information asymmetries and adverse selection. We also propose a solution, complementary to existing ones, to reduce asymmetry and promote a SA.
