Abstract: Music industry is a system with artists, producers, consumers and predictors. These actors have to deal with a common thing : the music rankings. This paper analyzes variations about physical sales ranking, legally downloaded music ranking and illegally downloaded music ranking. A longitudinal study based on 7920 observations allows us to show the different rankings are all as stable as each other, however the surviving time of the artists is not the same depending on the classification considered
