Abstract: This article presents the concept of profit in the Post-Keynesian economic tradition. It begins by clarifying this concept, contrasting it with that of the neoclassical tradition. It then presents the different markup theories proposed by Post-Keynesians, and finally explains how profits are formed, at the macroeconomic level, in a demand-driven monetary production economy.
