Abstract:
The staies of central western Brazil, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, southern Mato Grosso, Goias and the Federal District suffer big changes in their demographic and productive structures. They are "frontier states", whether they are agricultural, commercial or political. In the course of these deep modifications, the industry is stagnating and keeps pace neither with the urban growth nor with the agricultural development. We wonder in this paper about the potentialities of an industry which would be based on a non stabilized agriculture in a zone where the great national industrial centres prevail. We give here a critical contribution to the theory of the development by branches.
