Abstract:
Grand challenges denominate fundamental problems of modern society – e.g., climate change, aging societies, exploitative labour, biodiversity loss – collectively affecting different group of people, organizations and nations. The complexity of the issues they stand for involves different actors and their interconnections, at institutional, organizational, and individual level. In these terms, collaborations can play a crucial role in the creation of new solutions. In this article we will explore the implications of the collaboration among cooperatives towards solving the great challenges of tomorrow. The analysis focuses on a meta-organization, namely an organization of organizations, based in Italy, and whose members are cooperatives.
