Abstract:
The issue of governance is no longer the exclusive domain of large companies. This article aims to show the importance of ethics and to test its influence on the relationship between governance and sustainability of real estate companies. This research is intended to be hypothetico-deductive and is in line with a modified positivist epistemological posture. To test our hypotheses, we collected data from 132 real estate managers in five Beninese cities (Cotonou, Abomey-Calavi, Porto-Novo, Bohicon and Parakou). We deepen our results by interviewing 11 real estate company managers. These data were processed using SPSS and R software. In addition, content analysis allowed us to analyze the qualitative data. The results showed that ethics positively and significantly moderates the relationship between governance and sustainability of real estate firms.
