Abstract:
This study explores the case of Clinitex, a professional cleaning services provider, which has implemented a ‘sufficiency threshold.' The sufficiency threshold serves as an overarching indicator for measuring success, balancing financial performance with qualitative factors such as employee well-being and customer satisfaction. Through a detailed case study, we examine how Clinitex has navigated the process of culture change via a management dispositif, integrating sufficiency into its core operations and challenging conventional growth-oriented practices. By analysing Clinitex's journey, this article aims to shed light on the practical implications of sustainability as culture change via sufficiency-oriented tools and practices, and provide insights for other organisations seeking to embed sufficiency into their organisational culture. The findings underscore the importance of transparency in leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a creative trial-and-error approach in driving cultural transformations towards sustainability, while also highlighting challenges related to arbitration between financial and socio-environmental indicators, employee onboarding and retention.
