Abstract:
This article explores the motivations and implications of introducing play into the workplace, drawing on an analytical framework structured around two dimensions: the actors involved (supervisor or subordinate) and the legality of the initiative (licit or illicit). This framework makes it possible to examine four distinct configurations, ranging from productivity enhancement to the regulation of professional tensions. The article challenges the idea of play as a mere support tool, proposing instead that it serves as a diagnostic lever for professional relationships. By combining two axes—productivity improvement/regulation and governance/resilience—the study introduces the G.A.M.E.R. model, which facilitates the analysis of the respective positions of supervisors and subordinates. This model helps interpret relational dynamics and suggests appropriate strategies for resolving tensions or optimizing collaboration.
