Abstract: Like a beacon in the night, the organic segment is saturating the "consume better" markets, and overshadowing the real alternative to intensive agricultural systems: the third way, an agro-ecological approach. Sifting through false promises, genuine agronomic challenges and legitimate consumer aspirations, the perspectives of agricultural labourers and local residents, FruiTrop sets out its thoughts on the future of production systems, taking as an example the export banana.
