Abstract:
This article analyzes the role of family capital in sustainable value creation within family firms. A case study of a large family group shows that the strategic activation of family resources - social, human, financial, survivability, and governance - over time and across generations fosters sustainable value creation and strengthens the firm's resilience in times of crisis. The study also introduces the concept of "rooted sustainability," grounded in a living legacy, strong local embeddedness, and shared moral values.
