Abstract:
To stabilize their incomes and set their selling price in advance, French grain farmers have the opportunity to use commodity markets with tools such as futures contracts. The grain farmer must be able to understand how the buying and selling mechanisms of these futures contracts affect his income. For this, face-to-face training is organized. Group sessions are a classic way of training. However, the use of a serious game could be more stimulating when incorporated in the curriculums. Few academic researches have focused on raising the awareness of grain farmers by serious games. We ask ourselves: "Is the serious game a useful artefact for farmers to learn about the financial markets?". We mobilize in this research design science as well as the theories of learning and we conduct a literature review on financial literacy.
