Abstract: The rapid economic development of Switzerland following the political creation of the federal state in 1848 is closely linked to the establishment of an organized form of capitalism, within which the dominant "bourgeois–peasant" social bloc played a crucial role. This article examines the period from 1848 to 1936 and seeks to identify the nature of this influence, with a particular focus on export-oriented industries. These industries acted as a driving force for the dominant social bloc by aligning other key economic actors with their interests and, above all, by shaping public policies. Within this context, export industries supported the adoption of a strong Swiss franc, fostering a tight connection between the dominant social bloc and monetary policy. This, in turn, helped sustain the Swiss accumulation regime.
