Abstract:
Disrupted by an unprecedented pandemic, healthcare organizations across numerous countries have surmounted cultural and structural barriers to implement a series of organizational transformations aimed at addressing the continuously evolving demand for medical care. Viewing the crisis context as an opportunity for learning, we propose the research question: What interactional mechanisms underpin the dynamics of organizational transformations within hospitals in a health crisis context? To address this question from an international perspective, empirical investigations were conducted in the Luxembourg and French contexts. The findings elucidate the modalities of inter-professional and inter-hierarchical interactions from a multi-level perspective, examined through the lens of the structurationist approach.
