Abstract:
An increasing number of professional soccer clubs are engaging in CSR actions. These initiatives raise the question of how to involve fans as stakeholders in the development of CSR strategies. In order to understand the expectations of fans with regard to soccer clubs' CSR, the results of a thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with eighteen fans were cross-referenced with a free word association questionnaire administered to 230 fans. Based on fans' expectations, our results suggest that soccer club brand managers can adapt their strategies and explore unique CSR initiatives.
