Abstract:
Youth unemployment is one of the major challenges facing several countries. To deal with this, one of the solutions remains the use of entrepreneurship. This is the case in the city of Kalemie, where this study attempts to analyze the entrepreneurial dynamics of young people. Based on a convenience sample of approximately 357 individuals, this exploratory study analyzes their experience of unemployment to finally understand their entrepreneurial motivations, the main challenges they face and the prospects for entrepreneurship development. It uses the model of the three dominant approaches proposed by Fayolle in entrepreneurship research, namely, the trait approach (who is the entrepreneur?), the behavioral approach (what does the entrepreneur do?) and the process approach or organizing process (how does the entrepreneur do it?).
