Abstract: Our aim was twofold: characterize the socioeconomic profile of coffee farmers, and identify the types of coffee production systems based on work organization and farmers access to value chains though market. A questionnaire were applied with 120 coffee farmers localized in 30 cities in Paraná, Brazil. Our results showed that conventional or specialty coffee were produced by small family farmers with or without hired labor in 30 types of coffee production systems
