Abstract: The selection of third-party logistics service providers (3PLs) is a strategic decision that affects the overall performance of a company as well as its supply chain. It is a complex process that takes into account various quantitative and qualitative criteria, business activity and outsourced logistics processes. This article aims to identify the main criteria that have most influence on 3PL selection, in order to understand the evolution of the importance of these criteria over time. To achieve this goal, this submission refers to the results of a recent study on this topic, and to their comparison with those of a previous literature review.
