Abstract:
The diffusion of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) is reshaping the challenges of knowledge management (KM). This paper presents a literature review analyzing the contributions and limitations of GAI in relation to the core KM processes: knowledge creation, storage, transfer, and application. The reviewed studies highlight an enhancement of capabilities related to the combination, access, and application of explicit knowledge, while emphasizing the central role of human interactions in the socialization, validation, and collective sensemaking processes. These findings invite a reconsideration of KM conceptual frameworks in order to better capture the contemporary transformations associated with GAI.
