Abstract:
Managing disability in the workplace has always presented risks, particularly in terms of integration, accessibility, and discrimination at work. Since the February 2005 law affirming the principles of equality and non-discrimination, the employment of people with disabilities in companies could transform these risks into multiple opportunities contributing to: the creation of diversity, the improvement of the employer brand, the establishment of a culture of inclusion, and the increase in the attractiveness of the company in its search for new talent. The aim of this article is to show how business school students can view transforming the risk of disability into opportunities as an innovative opening in their professional careers. To do this, we introduce some comments on the evolution of the concept of disability in the workplace and highlight the risks associated with disability management. We then illustrate part of the evolution of diversity and inclusion education through the initial results of an analysis of a corpus of writings by human resources students discovering the complexity of disability in the workplace as terra incognita.
