Abstract: The rise of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), driven by the widespread adoption of ChatGPT, raises a central issue: understanding how these technologies are adopted and integrated within organizations. Using a PRISMA-guided systematic literature review, we analyze 38 articles (January 2022 - April 2025) drawn from Scopus, EBSCO Host, and the ACM Digital Library. We combine a bibliometric analysis (journals, countries, methods, sectors, and technologies) with a content analysis of adoption determinants, structured around an extended TOE framework that incorporates individual and ethical dimensions. The results reveal a strong concentration on ChatGPT, the education sector, and Asian empirical settings, as well as the predominance of quantitative approaches grounded in TAM and UTAUT. Technological factors (usefulness, ease of use, performance, output quality) and organizational factors (social influence, facilitating conditions) dominate, while environmental and ethical dimensions remain underexplored.
