Abstract: The article focuses on domestic work performed by children in France, a topic rarely addressed in studies estimating domestic time or in the literature on children's activities. Based on the data from the 2009-2010 INSEE Time Use Survey, the article shows that children aged 11-18 perform an average of 44 minutes of domestic work per day—29 minutes for boys and 60 minutes for girls. For children, the amount of domestic work is influenced both by their status as a minor and by their gender, with the latter playing a slightly stronger role.
