Abstract: This technical note presents the data sources and methodological approach used to analyze the evolution of health research funding and outputs across major public research systems. It accompanies the study "Evolution of public funding for collaborative health research towards higher-level patient-oriented research", published in Quantitative Science Studies. The note focuses on the use of large-scale funding databases and supervised text classification to characterize research portfolios.
