Abstract:
The liberalization of the gaming and gambling industries initiated by the 12 May 2012 French law can be mainly explained by external pressures exerted by illegal on-line offers and the EU competition law. While this regulatory framework is sharply criticised by the French National Accounts Audit Office and by the Parliament, this paper proposes to assess its main characteristics and constraints.
