Abstract:
This article explores a new approach to addressing dependency: intergenerational cohabitation. We aim to understand this approach and investigate how it can offer a relevant response to the needs of dependent seniors who require assistance in their daily lives. To achieve this, we will compare it with traditional care methods (such as nursing homes and home care) through a cost/benefit analysis. Our focus will also be on examining the balance of the exchange between the seniors providing accommodation and the younger individuals being accommodated. To do so, we will base our analysis on an evaluation of the social handicap of the young caregiver.
