Abstract:
This document is a direct extension of the work by Mbende, Nkashama, and Tshitolo (2024), Cross-sectional Data Analysis: Application Using Stata Software, available on HAL https://hal.science/hal-04362269v1, in which the methodological aspects, statistical justifications, and Stata commands are addressed in a rigorous and scientific manner. The present document adopts a distinctly different approach. It is practical and application-oriented, grounded in real cases from companies operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Over the course of three training days, three sectors of activity are examined: telecommunications with MTSA Telecommunications (n = 320 subscribers), the banking sector with MTSA Bank (n = 180 employees), and the agri-food sector with MTSA Agro (n = 240 points of sale). For each sector, concrete strategic questions are raised, real data are utilized, and statistical results are systematically translated into actionable managerial decisions. The analyses cover a wide range of methods, including descriptive statistics, tests of association and comparison, OLS regression models, ordered logit models, binary logit models, and multinomial logit models, as well as the calculation and interpretation of average marginal effects. Each result is rigorously interpreted and placed within its sectoral context, enabling the reader not only to understand the underlying statistical mechanisms but also to grasp their decision-making implications for the company concerned. This document is intended for students in management, economics, and social sciences, as well as for data analysis practitioners and decision-makers seeking to leverage quantitative tools to enhance organizational performance.
