Abstract: Since the 1990s, many authors argue that universities have no other choice, to face the new challenges of higher education, as to move towards more entrepreneurial forms of organization. This normative literature tells us very little about the current practices of contemporary universities, particularly in terms of their ability to deploy strategies. This article therefore aims to better understand the development of academic strategies, thanks to the longitudinal study of a french case over 20 years.
