Abstract: This essay is intended to make a contribution to the philosophical model-discussion in the development of science, i.e. the process of adopting, keeping and rejecting scientific

theories. The aim of this short investigation is to make a contribution to the understanding

of development steps in organisations and the problem in planning the future of these steps, which influences organisation theories. We discuss the naive assumption that deterministic development is rather regular and give reasons why it is not easy to calculate future behavior of organisations and systems from initial conditions. This essay constitutes rather an elaboration of views than a complete solution to given problems but perhaps our views gives another piece to the puzzle of understanding the development of scientific theories in organisational research based on research in Swedish libraries.
