Demand for employees in educational organizations

Abstract:
The report analyzes the demand for employees in educational organizations in 2008–2018, its structure by occupation. Special attention has been given to the demand for academic personnel. The analysis is carried out on the basis of Rosstat enterprise survey on the number of employees and the need for employees by professional groups.- In 2008–2018 the total need for employees in organizations in Russia varied in the range from 620 to 899 thousand people, of which 53–82 thousand people accounted for educational organizations. At the same time, in the field of education, the relative he demand for workers was two times lower than the average for the economy and amounted to 1.1–1.5%.- More than half of the unfilled demand for employees in educational organizations falls on specialists in the field of education, in particular, teachers in schools and preschool education (8.7 and 7.7 thousand people, respectively).- The most acute shortage is in specialists in teaching methods and specialists working with people with disabilities: vacancies account for 3.4 and 2.4% of the total number of jobs, respectively.
