Abstract: Rollout of psychological and educational counseling in our country is one of the key tasks in ensuring equality and accessibility of pre-school education for children from early childhood, supporting family well-being and happy life of children. Counseling for parents, especially in difficult straits, including under threat of a negative scenario of children development, relies on traditions of humanitarian pedagogic and active involvement of parents into upbringing and development of every child. Supporting parents and providing conditions for enhancing their psychological and pedagogical skills are particularly important amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and required shift to online procedures and stay-at-home orders. The study is based on sociological surveys of pre-school education participants (heads and teachers of nursery schools as well as parents of nursery pupils) conducted within the frameworks of the Education Economics Monitoring by NRU HSE in 2020-2021 and analysis of statistic data on activities of consulting centers for parents with preschoolers, according to the evidence from inter-agency information systems of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
